About us

We’re an aspiring newcomer rock band from Bern, Switzerland, consisting of four guys. We try to play thrilling, emotional, and expressive rock music while always refining our own style.

We dedicate our music to the joys, fears, ups and downs that we all experience in everyday life. We want to do our part for a world without psychological pressure, where everyone can live life as they want.

Apartment 99 is a young and ambitious band. But don’t be fooled, with keyboard player Dominique we also bring experience on the big stage. As part of a duo, he convinced the audience on Swiss television SRF and got into the Top 3 at «Die grössten Schweizer Talente», the Swiss equivalent of «America’s got Talent».

Why «Apartment 99»?

When we started out a few years back, our members lived in two different cities, namely Berne and Zurich. As if that wasn’t already making the organization of rehearsal difficult enough, the only bandroom we found was in a third location that wasn’t really convenient for both parties. But hey you gotta do with what you find, right?

So, to get the most out of the situation without having to live every hour (editor’s note: this is probably a gross exaggeration) not spent breaking drum sets and making amps scream like there was no tomorrow, spent in a train, we decided to meet every other weekend.

For two days straight, nothing happening outside of this bandroom mattered. Playing music, eating, drinking, smoking, and sleeping (the last one was by far the least important), all happened down there, in this old farm’s cellar. Hell we didn’t even have any signal down there.

It was as if we had our own apartment. Now that cellar had been transformed into a bandroom in 1999. And there you have it: Apartment 99
